- Santa Rosa, Calif.-based Praxis Capital LLC acquired a 140-unit multifamily property in Conroe for an undisclosed price.
Whispering Oaks Apartments is the latest Texas acquisition for Praxis Capital, which has recently opened an office in Texas.
The company looked at several hundred properties before acquiring the multifamily property and says it plans to acquire “several more” in the major Texas metros.

A proposal to rename a portion of Interstate 45 through The Woodlands for its founder, George Mitchell, will wait until 2015 after late-night transportation debates left lawmakers ready to leave Austin.
Sen. Tommy Williams, R-The Woodlands, filed the bill dedicating I-45 between the Harris County line and Texas 242 as the George P. Mitchell Memorial Highway.

Developers of Springwoods Village announced plans Tuesday for a Town Center including a lake, full-service hotel, luxury apartments and retail on the 1,800-acre mixed-use community designed to accommodate energy companies moving away from Houston’s center and their employees.
CDC Houston said the public plaza and other facilities near the Town Lake will be a focal point for the community and region. The real estate company estimates tens of thousands energy company employees eventually head to the new ExxonMobil campus and Southwestern Energy Co. The development is slated to be completed by 2015.
