The developers of a townhome project have paid $300,000 to settle a dispute over unauthorized clearing of public park land in June, city officials announced Monday.
“The City of Houston fought to ensure the developer would pay for the vegetation to be replanted, and hopefully it can begin to grow again without further incident,” Mayor Annise Parker said in a statement. “We believe this is fair and will compensate the city for the amount of work needed to restore the area.”
