Longtime Willis city councilman looks forward to new direction (The Courier)

Willis City Councilman John Lovelady, 56, is stepping down from public office after deciding not to run for re-election in May in order to focus more on his role as a deacon at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church. Lovelady, who has served on the City Council for 17 years, has been involved in the decisions for several annexation and infrastructure projects, including the Kroger Marketplace center. Johnnie Stone, who is running unopposed, will replace Lovelady.
