Pasadena City Council ok’s $235K for new playground equipment for south side park (The Pasadena Citizen)

Workers will soon begin installing playground equipment upgrades at a south Pasadena park after city officials recently ok’d more than $235,000 for a new covered playscape.

Mayor Johnny Isbell and the Pasadena City Council unanimously approved a payment of $235,745.26 to Lone Star Recreation, Inc. of Houston for the purchase and installation of new playground equipment for Holly Bay Park. The contract was approved at a meeting held Tuesday, June 21 and was awarded via a competitive bidding process via a state-negotiated purchasing cooperative and includes a five percent contingency according to agenda documents.
