Brazoria County residents living along the Brazos River and Oyster Creek floodplains should be prepared to take action NOW. The National Weather Service has predicted the Brazos River to reach MAJOR flood stage 51.3 feet at Rosharon on Tuesday morning, May 30. The Brazos River at Rosharon is predicted to crest on Thursday, June 2nd at 53.5 feet. According to the National Weather Service the Brazos River will remain in MAJOR flood stage for a 10 – 14 day period. If residents have livestock in flood prone areas they should be moved IMMEDIATELY to higher ground.
