The residents of Linwood, Phase One have been dealing with flooding issues for decades. The subdivision, which is bordered by Orange St. and SH35, is located on the east side of town.
“The city was going to make sure that [Orange St.], which acts like a dam in our subdivision, would not be raised when it was re-asphalted. It is higher now,” said resident Paul Eskine, who spoke as a neighborhood representative at the City Council meeting on Monday (Mar. 14). “We are tired of our homes flooding.”
