As cities around the state of Texas feel the pinch of the slumping oil and gas industry, officials in The Woodlands say the community has a silver lining and is well positioned to weather the market.

While the commercial real estate sector seems to be most affected by the downturn, retail, health and education are all growing and helping to keep unemployment rates low and sales tax dollars steady.
