Pearland realtor sworn in as Texas Real Estate Commissioner (The Journal)

On Nov. 5, Governor Greg Abbott appointed Rayito Stephens of Pearland to the Texas Real Estate Commission for a term set to expire on January 31, 2021. The Commission’s primary purpose is to protect the public in its dealings with real estate brokers and salespersons. Stephens took her Oath of Office Friday (Nov. 20) at the Pearland Municipal Court.

Stephens specifically requested that she be sworn in in Pearland instead of Houston. “Pearland is where I am, not Houston. I wanted this special moment in Pearland. This town and its people are the most warm-hearted that I have ever met,” Stephens said.
