Township to adopt smaller budget, lower tax rate (The Villager)

The Township board made its way through an extensive list of budget initiatives earlier this month agreeing to some and dropping others.

After three days of hearings, the board is scheduled to adopt its 2016 budget of $123.2 million, a 6.7 percent decrease from 2015’s budget of $132 million, Sept. 1. In addition, the board is proposing a drop in its tax rate from 25 cents per $100 property valuation to 23 cents per
