Whole Foods to open new store type in Houston amid poor earnings (HBJ)

Whole Foods Market Inc. will launch one of its first lower-priced stores called “365 by Whole Foods Market” in Houston by 2017, according to a statement from the company.

Austin-based Whole Foods (Nasdaq: WFM) said the first 365 store will open in the Silver Lake area of Los Angeles a little more than a year from now. Other stores will open soon after in the Seattle area; Santa Monica, Calif.; Portland and Houston.
