City considers expanding smoking ban again (Houston Chronicle)

City Council is considering redefining Houston’s smoking ban to include all plant substances and combustible materials, as well as expanding the areas covered to include public pedestrian walkways.

Currently, the city’s smoking ordinance contemplates only tobacco products, outlawing smoking within 25 feet of a public facility, places of employment, bars and restaurants, outdoor sports arenas and stadiums, city libraries and parks.
