Construction permits issued in Houston set a record in August, marking the six consecutive month to do so, the Greater Houston Partnership reports.
The partnership analyzed city of Houston data and found the 12-month totaled $7.8 billion, a 39.2 percent increase from the same period ending in August 2013. Residential permits rose to $2.8 billion from $2.1 billion, a 34.1 percent increase. Nonresidential permits grew from to $5 billion from $3.5 billion, a 42 percent increase.
