Updated: Judge Emmett proposes turning Astrodome into ‘world’s largest indoor park’ (HBJ)

Harris County Judge Ed Emmett on Aug. 26 unveiled his proposal for the future of the Astrodome: an indoor, climate-controlled park that could put Houston “back on the world’s stage again.”

During a press conference on the floor of the Dome, Emmett said it’s “time to look back to the original concept” of the Astrodome, which was to “provide a place for traditional outdoor activities in a climate-controlled space.”
