League City is considering building a pet adoption center.

With an eye to the future, League City officials are exploring options to expand the city’s animal shelter on North Kansas Avenue.

The idea, a city official said, is to have an adoption center that takes into account the total well-being of the animal, versus a typical shelter that warehouses animals until they are adopted, or in the worst-case scenario, euthanized.
