Federal funding for water taxis raises questions (Houston Chornicle)

Sandra McAllen and her two children waited about 40 minutes one Friday afternoon for a chance to catch a ride on a Woodlands’ water taxi.

“I can’t imagine the waterway without the cruisers. They’re a unique attraction,” she said of the 35-foot-long, glass-enclosed cruise ships that ferry passengers around a 1.5-mile corridor carved in The Woodlands’ commercial hub.
