Montgomery County to fund more Sheriff’s deputies (The Villager)

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office requested an $8.6 million increase to its 2015 budget from the previous year to fill 105 new positions and 22 equipment upgrades.

Montgomery County Commissioners said they were not ready to commit that much during a budget hearing Monday, but preferred setting aside roughly $1.6 million to at least fund 15 new deputies, their accompanying patrol vehicles and a mechanic to help speed up auto repairs for the department.
