Annise Parker brings convention crowd to its feet (Houston Chronicle)

Houston Mayor Annise Parker may not be on the ballot this year, but with just one two-year term left, delegates at the Texas Democratic Convention are paying extra attention to what she says this weekend.

Speaking to a packed convention hall Friday night, Parker urged the crowd to “walk, talk and vote” their way to electoral victories in November. Working her way up to a steady clip during her speech, she repeated what values “Democrats know” are important to the people of Texas, specifically “faith, family and freedom.”
