Texas shatters record for wind-energy production (HBJ)

Wind turbines produced 10,296 megawatts of electricity on March 26, shattering the old record by 600 MW, according to the Electric Reliability Council of Texas.

The record came at 8:48 p.m. that night. For that moment, wind provided 29 percent of the 35,768 MW generated in ERCOT.
