Fort Bend County has long had a reputation as one of the country’s fastest-growing counties. It took from 1836 to 2000 for Fort Bend to grow to a 325,000-population – a figure which has since doubled. With this rapid expansion has come an equally rapid need to expand the county’s system of roadways, leading to this November’s $184.9 million mobility bond election – the third in Fort Bend’s history.
