Hospitals cutting jobs nationwide — but not in Houston (HBJ)

While the health care industry as a whole remains a stable source of jobs, hospitals nationwide are cutting back on their workforce.

Hospitals averaged about 6,800 new jobs a month in 2012, Modern Healthcare reports. This year, the number has averaged at about 875 jobs, with a number of cuts and layoffs announced over the summer.
